Did you try 0.12 or 0.1mm nano coated stencil @ 10 mil aperture? A soak time type profile with long reflow time could help.

Greg: Several year ago we did a lot of work to develop methods for finding reliable common profiles. The process we came up with takes an emmense amount of time, and leaves the user with an "adequate" profile for each product, rather than the "one b

We had a board we fought with for a while with solder balls. Checked everything, Stencil thickness at .004, reduced apertures, changed paste 3 times, changed profile 3 times. Finally changed board vendors. Went from HASL to Emersion Gold. Problem sol

James, I understand that you would like a quick fix answer but profiles take time and analysis to get right. Firstly, your paste supplier should provide an example of the correct profile for the paste you are using. Secondly, what makes you think

Is there a standard to specify how many times a profile board can be used? if No, then could I say that it depends on the actual board appearance (discoloration, delamination etc.) then it's time to replace a new one. Thanks in advance for sharing.

Hi Pete, That info is correct. See Victors response for throughput calculation. The reasoning is that the longer the heated section the faster the belt speed. The faster the belt speed, the higher the throughput. This is all based on your paste manu
