Hi Dougs I worked a bit a few years ago with a diode type soldering laser. I found laser soldering very application specific so make sure you send samples off to differnt companies to see actual results. You can get good results with a laser system

muarty, Each has their place. Rules based systems (algorithm) are harder to program and I have seen post on here with people saying there is no real difference in defect detection. Image based systems are much easier and intutitive to program.
