I would highly recommend that you test drive your vehicle before you buy it. Buy a test kit from Topline and have a stencil made. Make an appointment with the machine manufacturer and let them know that you come with your own boards and components.

JS: The issue is not how efficiently/effectively that you can run your placement machine, probably. The issue is how efficiently you can run that part of your assembly process that is the bottleneck. Other than improving quality, optimizing any pa

Hi ZJJ, I know exactly where you're coming from on this one! We have a similar situation here with a SiPlace 80S-15, rated at 15K max per hour. In practice, we achieve about 11K. The reason is fairly straightforward. The quoted maximum placements pe

Yes this is absolutely true. No-clean flux residue has various affects on the functionality of circuitry especially high impedance circuits. It also affects solderability, and reliability. No-clean flux will always leave a detectable residue. Mos

Is any one else out there running a Contact3AV machine in a small batch size (4 offs to 20 offs)environment ? Obviously you cannot expect a high utilisation figure running small batches, setup etc; but has anyone achieved an optimum ? I h

I have a number of hopefully easy questions: 1. Are there significant differences in the ease of change-overs and set-up among different equipment manufacturers? For example, are Siemens Siplace machines truly more modular than others? We b

I am using a 18 mil and below water soluble solder paste (89.5-25-80). I have never used this type of paste. The PCB has a fine pitch component of which I cannot prevent bridging. The paste coverage on the pad looks like it is slumping. It is not a
