I would wait. Scrap the bare boards you have and order fresh boards to arrive when the late component is scheduled to arrive and run as normal. Unless the bare board is exceptionally expensive this is the cheapest and safest route to take. Jerry

Has there anyone bold enough to try this in their shops? My cubemate just got through telling me that at his last shop, they had bare copper boards (no HASL, no OSP, no nothing), with minimal solderability problems.

I think all silver on a bare board is Immersion. We are a bare board manufacturer and that is the only silver I'm aware of being used as a finish. What is the problem you are having?

Do you mean making bare boards or populating bare boards. You post sounds like you mean the first but this forum mainly deals with the second. And to do either well, you need 10-20 years experience. Or hire someone with said experience.
