Nordic aQFN73 stencil design

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 18 17:09:45 EDT 2018 | slthomas

Update - next run started out horribly so went to another stencil design. Reduced thermal pad coverage by about 40% with 4 panes, with cutouts to avoid the vias. Worked like a charm for 10 boards (90 parts). I think we're finally on to something.

two-sided design guidelines

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 09 14:15:56 EDT 2002 | slthomas

Pardon the cross-post from the design board....I thought maybe I should query both populations. Is anyone out there aware of any standard or even a section of a standard that specifically addresses design guidelines for two-sided assemblies, particu

0201 Aperture design

Electronics Forum | Fri Oct 04 01:18:27 EDT 2002 | sarge

1.5. Width >= 4-5 Particle Diameters. Use the smallest opening to determine this. Using dimension of the smallest aperture width, you should be able to fit minimum of 4-5 solder balls side by side into the opening. For 0201 design, -400 mesh (type

0603 resistor design spec

Electronics Forum | Fri Nov 27 08:58:39 EST 1998 | Des

I have a PCMCIA type pcb with an 0603 resistor situated exactly half way along the longest edge the device is 2mm form the edge of the pcb. I have experienced incidences of the device fracturing after breakout (hand operation) (pcbs are routed) Coul

0201 Aperture design

Electronics Forum | Thu Oct 03 15:14:46 EDT 2002 | SMTGuy

Good Day Everyone, Can anyone offer any advice on 0201 aperture design? We are looking at an application that will require them. We would like to do some experimentation first. Also, assuming an OA flux, would we need a type 4 or 5 powder paste to p

0402 stencil design

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 04 09:03:45 EST 2003 | Russ Roberts

Greetings, I am pretty new to SMT production, and have learned much from this forum. I am getting ready to build a CCA with many 0402 parts that are really close together. I consider these fine pitch. The board also has two QFPS, so my stencil design

Nordic aQFN73 stencil design

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 09 13:53:45 EDT 2018 | dleeper

I've never placed one of these before, but it looks like a poorly designed part. It has pads scattered asymmetrically around the body of the part. when it reflows this is going to apply uneven forces to the component, causing it to skew. I guess hav

Land pattern design

Electronics Forum | Wed Oct 31 11:01:02 EST 2001 | dougie

Hi Dave, Thanks for the suggestions. To clarify a couple of the points... - What do you qualify as "small" & "large" parts? - Do not make the pad narrower than the lead width. The nominal or the maximum? If I use the maximum width I'll be back to s

Land pattern design

"small" versus "LARGE" parts? Jeez, what do I know? We dont have a formal definition. Theyre the ones that make you say: Now, thats a BIG-ass part!!! nominal versus maximum? Yes, yer correct.

stencil design software

Not now, Valor may under develop the module for its Trilogy 5000 with the stencil aperture based on the rules which you set. Also, check with IRI stencil (Alpha), they have a s/w and based on using ODB++ file and not Gerber. Rgds.
