We have an ERSA machine here where we have solder "spikes" occasionally. We have made sure our flux is dispensing properly, we have adjusted z axis speeds, our preheater is heating properly, adjusted XY speeds, etc. Can anyone think of something we m

I am currently looking into purchasing a BGA rework station. Most of the various manufactures use convection heat, but Ersa was different in that they use IR. I know and understand the difference between the two types, but I was wondering if any body

My suggest is using Ersa IR55A or IR650A. http://www.ersa.de/en/ If you looking for your quality, you need this system. I had try it many time, is better then hot air. and you can set the profile as you like, even Flat Peak on the Lead Free Rework.

Gary Getting the specs for a used machine will be tough from Ersa but at least send them a note, the seller should also be able to get the info for you. In regards a 5 zone system. I would suggest at least 7+ zones if your moving to lead free.
