#1) Is the card in panel form: (Y)/(N) #2) PCB thickness: Thin card: YES, Thick card: See above. #3) is the PCB warping during reflow? (Y)/(N) #4) Is the PCB Symmetrical is shape & size? These are just some of the questions you need to ask yourse

Yo Ho! I'm a little late to the party, sorry! Flex can be a simple PCB to process through Screen, Pick & Place & Reflow, if the card is designed properly. 4 symmetrical tooling holes .125" diameter and 5mm in on each corner of the card. Wedge Effect:

Steve, KIC does. The new KIC2000 has built in dwell time sensors. You can buy KIC's wavesurfer option (like MOLE's waverider), or you can engineer a custom pallet for 1/3 the price. I made a custom pallet and took advantage of the KIC's automatic

Thank you for your reply! I will see how it goes without the carrier pallets. I was worried about them drooping too far in the center (at the center V-Score) and falling off of the conveyor in the reflow oven. I am putting boarders on all sides of

Ian, It appears to me you are trying to reflow the star wars project. All this talk about thermal absorbtion, heat differential, etc., it' only a reflow profile? If you read back over the suggestions of all other memos, you will find the solution.

Hi mates, actually my whole problem, is whether to : 1) To offset the heat-absorb ability of the Pallet, that artifically lowers my pcba temperature, is it advisable to artifically increase the overall, oven zone temperatures? offset by estimated +

Pin chains don't come on small ovens. I was thinking about buying some kind of pallet to put pcbs in but it may not be automated then? Most of my stuff is single sided but we do have three boards double sided.

Would you consider to glue this part when running first side? The other way is to create a pallet that will provide a heat sink in this area(or may be cover this part with FR4).

I've used ECD's WaveRIDER and TIC's Wave Optimizer, and some people have sworn by Malcom's wave reader as well (if you look at all the past threads). We HAD an optimizer here in our shop, but somebody bwoke it. :-( As for evaluating these, see Chu
