There are links to sites aimed at identifying electronic components in the fine SMTnet Archives. Just out of curiosity, why do you have three part numbers for two parts?

Sure you can do it!!! Just so that I'm clear on your inquiry, the pattern you're talking about is what? * Foot print of the copper pads * Glue pattern for printing your adhesive

Screen printing has much lower profile than dispensing. So it is suitable for chips without body stand-off, (Even sot23 has stand-off). But is is much faster. Dispensers can not catch up with some chip shooters.

Can anyone recommend a solderability test kit. This would be used for SOT23, chip caps resistors etc; Thanks in advance, Chris

Mr. Johnson, I belive the legs would be pointing away from the holes but then again the may be twards the holes Who knows. How is every thing going over there? I havent heard from you in awhile. B

We have same equipment and used the same adhesive. Switched to Loctite 3618 and problem went away. Check cure profile again. 150C at 90s best. Also, check dot size/patterns. Double dots for chips and 4-dot for SOTs works well for us. Regards.

I am considering of Philips FCM for the next production. But I have heard a rumour saying this machine is not capable for checking the lead polarity due to the laser scan system. i.e. SOT might be populated in wrong direction. Can somebody advise me

Dave, I confess I was a tad too general and a bit too extreme describing the way ALL solder joints look on palladium coated leads. I should been more specific about the "pillow-effect". I've seen it regularly with palladium coated leads on small SOT

Hi, Does anyone have guidelines on minimum SMT component spacing for bottom sided wave soldering? I am looking for general rule of thumb in wave soldering bottom side SOTs, 0805 & 0603s. How about minimum through-hole lead to pad distance? Peter
