SMT Disasters

There is nothing wrong with working "remote hours". Why does everyone think we are slackers just because we work 4-5 hours a day at work. There is a ton of remote time spent thinking about work whilst driving too and from work, at home, working out

New Oven Now Getting PCB Twist

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 24 14:08:46 EST 2009 | swag

I think you are too hot out of the gate as well as too slow on conveyor. I think settings similar to 130, 140, 150, 160, 230, 240, 260 and conveyor speed at about 28 or 29 IPM would be more realistic but it depends on your paste and oven config/zone

Bubbles on solder joint(after conformal coating curing)

dave, where I work they are having the same problems with 1B31 acrylic. The coating thickness is 6-8 mils dried so that have to do several passes with an air dry between them and a final oven cure. They think that it might be related to the heating r

"-How do these lint-free rags remove the flux that seeps under components = no matter its a no-clean material and we are removing for esthestics only." Don't think so ... Let's be clear. Low residue fluxes are benign only if: * Applied in amounts ac

J-STD-003

Hi, We are having a problem with the interpretation of the surface evaluation criteria of J-STD-003 section 4.2.2.4.2. "A minimum of 95% of each of the surfaces (i.e. each pad) being tested shall exhibit good wetting. The balance of the surface may

I think right now there is a comfortable buffer built into our process. If our pnp were 50% faster I believe that buffer would be cut out of the equation, so while I think it would be fine on most of our builds, I believe there would be builds that

Hello! I have a problem with one of the products here, we use a pallet to run the board on the solder wave, when the board gets solder and you inspect the board you notice that for some reason the first pcbs that touches the wave are ok, even a litt

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 28 14:35:04 EDT 2017 | emeto

I can't believe there is a topic for discussion. Find a way and measure lead contamination(if any)and prove them wrong. This is getting out of control. Having all the billions of gasoline and diesel engines pumping dirt in the air, together with the

Hello, I am experiencing a high pitched noise coming from a computer component and I think it might be the 18 inductors they have placed on the PCB as part of the VRM. I am think of using a 2 part Thermal Conductive Adhesive and fix all the inducto
