My first guess is that the plating in the barrel (via) has failed and allowed laminate/epoxy egress into the barrel and out to the surface of the board. Just a guess based on the picture.... 'hege

I have customers populating LEDs on flex PCBs (with Aluminum support plates) with sizes up to 1,200mm (say 4ft) even on old Philips/Assembleon Topaz machines. What components are you planning to assemble on your flex PCBs?

Just a thought, but have you pulled the datasheet for the part and confirmed that the plating on the leads is compatible with your current process/profile?

The manual says to bake the edge chains at 400C to clean them. Is anybody doing this ? I need to take my edge chains to a heat treat facility to clean them ? I don't want to spray oven cleaner on them as they appear to be plated with nickel or so

Is there a directory for North American electroforming houses? My specific need is for large area production (e.g., Fuji 4000 screens, etc.) of 29" x 29" or greater. Any specific recommendations would be gratefully accepted. Photo-plotting capabil
