Greetings all,

I'm pretty new to the SMT world, having been a class 10 fab monkey in my previous life.

What I'm looking for is recommendations for pneumatic lead cutters. I need them to flush-cut as close as possible to the via without destroying the plating/pad. Lead size is .5mm to 1.0mm.

I've been looking at the Xuron 590. I'm not yet fully up to snuff on the major movers and shakers in the SMT equipment world, so I don't know if Xuron is a decent brand.

So, any recommendations from the seasoned SMT veterans?

Pneumatic lead cutters | 12 November, 2008

I have about 8 pair of the 590 in use in thru hole production. Had to replace 1 set of blades because of overpressure (50psimax) and a valve over past year. They work well for light to medium work. The replacement blades were around $20.00.
