Looking to purchase a new, inline stencil printer. I have been told that the new Ekra printers are based on the DEK platform, but do not carry the DEK price tag. We are currently running old SMT table top clamshell printers, so any inline sytem will be a giant leap forward. Looking for suggestions.

Hi There is a Benchtest on the EPP Stand at the SMT Hybrid & Packaging exhibition that may be on interest to you where 11 printers are going to be tested against each other.

It should be interesting to all who are looking to purchase a screen printer shortly as this very rarely happens

Screen printer Manufacturers taking part are

DEK EKRA ERSA Essemtec/Reprint (SP900 which is the R29 Spectrum with a different cover design) Folungwin Fuji MYDATA Panasonic Samsung Speedprint Speedline Technologies.

The results should be very interesting.

Regards Ian

Dek and Ekra both make great printers. Dek has a fully automatic printer that is price matched with Ekra.

Charlie, The EKRA printer is not a bad choice if you are just trying to upgrade from a table top unit. The DEK is much better and would be money well spent.

Charlie, Anything would be better than using a benchtop printer. We currently run all DEK printers at the moment which are fine, but I've recently been looking into alternatives to the DEK and have been very impressed by the Excerra printer not only by its performance but by its very reasonable price too, could be worth a look. Used equipment, then I wouldn't look past an MPM UP2000.

Just for INFO Folungwin Printer Win 6 simular to Ekra but with major design improvments, also in the next year a new printer to be released The Smart 3 which is simular to a Dek but with 39 design changes of improvement, both printers are same as better than rivals with warranty and installation included in price but at 34% cost down (sorry for the plug but its important to see the market is not controlled by two or three) Folungwin showroom in Europe by Aug/Sept. for more information contact SMTXTRA Europe/Americas please Robi

The Folungwin printer is a Chinese Ekra copy printer and can't be sold in the US because of vision patent infringments with MPM.

As long as the information isn't a fabrication, I would agree with you. Folungwin has installed no more than 5 printers in the US........and likely the number is 3. But nice try.
