I am having a lot of problems trying to Identify feeders needed to place parts from a Quad Mach. How do I find out what parts such as SOD 123 what feeders do they use.etc 8mm,12mm, etc. Do any parts suppliers furnish good information

The size of a feeder is determined by the width of the carrier tape the components come in. i.e. If you measure the width of the tape with a precision ruler or calipers that measurement will be the feeder size. Also, when you order parts the tape size should be specified thus indicating the feeder size needed.Who ever within your company is ordering parts, they should have or can get the tape size information. A lot of the Placement equipment manufacturers have a generic component library set up with this information.
