We have been asked to provide the OEE on our SMT lines.

Any examples of OEE reports that I have looked seem to be from OEM or high volume production lines.

Our SMT area is high mix - high changeover. We also run prototypes and start-ups through these lines.

Is there anyone out there that has successfully implemented OEE in a high mix- high changeover shop ?

I am defining high mix - high changeover as approx 1-2 changeovers per 8 hour shift per line(We run 3 shifts) We have approx 600 active SMT assemblies.

Hi Sr.

http://www.oee.com/pdf/fast-guide-to-oee.pdf

Pages 10 and 11 (I believe) will get you going.

I looked at that paper yesterday. I do not see anything in there that talks about all of the variables that are in a high mix - high changeover - multiple variable(s) process.
