I am looking for a radial lead former/trimmer I have some radial caps that I need to get up off the board. I am looking for a higher volume automatic machine. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've used both GPD and Hepco formers.

The Hepco radial former is this one:

The GPD radial former is this one:

The GPD offers more custom die sets and variations than the Hepco equipment. They are best setup by a technician prior to lead forming operations or when switching forms. I have found that the Hepco machines are better accepted by production when a technician is not available for setup of the machine.

I would also encourage you to talk to some brokers. If you just need something to cut them off the tape, I have a pile of that stuff (no-I am not a broker)and so does everyone. But if you need to kink leads, it will be expensive and in most cases the tooling is pretty robust and a 20 year old machine with some new blades will work fine. Rick at Fastek is a good guy and there are others. Take a look on e-bay as well but not likely to find anything that will kink leads. Put a wanted ad on SMT-Net as well.
