We produce High mix very low volume Military assemblies. So a typical order mya be for 50 pcb's, at a 5 up array.

Do you work in the fab shop?

Hi Scott,

I have worked for a State side PCB Manufacture and now a Taiwan Manufacture.

At both shops the up charge was based on how many up the pallet array was plus layer count and complexity of product, charges ranged from free to 15%.

Standard product - 5 mil. line and space, 10 mil. drill. Pallet array's under 6 up were free. Pallet array's over 6 up to 15 up were a 5 % adder. Pallet array's over 15 up. were a 10 % adder.

Above would be typical charges but these days I will guarantee that most shops will not add any extra charges just due to competitiveness in this industry.

So unless your product is very small and odd shaped I would guess your board house is not putting an adder on for No X'outs.

Regards, Boardhouse
