Valors vPlan has documentation/WI tool, data feed into it is extracted from CAD/CAM/BOM , SMT Parts Allocation, Manual placement allocation etc and can add pictures, videos etc, should check this out also...

Thanks guys. I'm assuming you're referring to http://www.aiscorp.com ? Checking out Aegis first, may take a couple days. Valor looks pretty interesting also (http://www.valor.com)

I assume you have this on your production floor? How are they working for you?

The challenge you will have with ProWorks is it doesn't understand electronics. To create a dynamic legend (parts list) based on ODB++ or CAD import probably won't be easily created. Understanding components and seeing the CAD data related and sorting on that CAD Data (Part number, package, etc..) may also be challenging. I know Valor's product does all that.

You may want to complete some due diligence before selecting the right software vendor.....knowing after selection that you're kinda' stuck for a while. Find out support for your needs (feeder setup lists dynamically created, easy board views and popups, easy parts lists and legend creation with dynamic coloring on board view, etc..), how their user support is (new users need extra support), etc... Don't count out Valor or PCB Blueprint...
