Quad 4C place problem | 31 March, 2010

Hi everyone ! I started to program quad 4C for the first time and have some problems. First, board detection LED and proximity Led (on the front panel) are not lightning whatever I do! Second problem is I teach machine board size, nozzle locations and pick-ups but when I try to teach placements at display of hand commander instead of V PLACE 1 I have V PLACE 1Z and I can't teach machine any placements. I teach placement after I press enter again but when I run pickup than placement to verify what I teach head will pickup component and when is about to place it head will go to placement location but it will not try to do Z axis instead it will go to home position. What I am doing wrong pls. anybody!? Thank you Miro, Belgrade

Hello, There should be a page in the manual that explains the proper way of manually teaching a program. It has been too long for me to recall the exact steps. Here is some stuff that should help you. Do a function 3 on a placement and this will show you what your taught z is. It should not be 0 and this is probably what you will see. For the transport problem....Can you put a board over the sensor and if it has an led on it...does it turn on? They had different sensors on the machine....i dont know which kind you have. There also may be an adjustment (potentiometer) on the sensor.

Good Luck Bob

First I would only be concerned about the front panel led's if the transport is not clamping. These LED's are most likeley burnt out. If the transport clamps your sensors are working properly. If you are seeing a "Place 1 Z" on the handheld it is asking you to teach the Z height of the placement, use the up/down keys to do this. You will have had to teach the X,Y coordinates first.

Also, ensure you have taught the pickup and have the part on the nozzle when teaching the placement Z height.
