We are using an Asscon VP800 with Galden LS230 fluid. This is a batch machine but is working well in our high mix-low volume environment.

Thanks Larry We are loooking a bigger Vapor machine which could soldered our big size borad(600x600 mm)assembled with hundreds of sockets and thousands of components. How about IBL products? Anyone used before?

You should also look at Rehm Thermal injection based Vapor phase system, uses much less galden than the other open tank fixed amount galden machines...they do batch and inline.....on going cost of galden is always a concern...

Also control of profile is more sophisticated than other methods giving better ramp rate control

Just a side point...

But be careful of electrolytics in Vapor phase , can be a issue, some makers void warranty on components in Vapor phase reflow.

Thanks Josh for your kind advice. Yes, we have some contacts of Rehm vapor system.However, we didn't know about cost of galden what you mentioned.It is a good point and has been kept as a note and Electrolytics in Vapor phase,too. Hope you can share some more.

Hi Stephen Our boards are as large as 600x600mm and sometimes 8 or 12 layers thick.And,there are many various components in different material.So, we are seeking the soldering machine which can supprot zero delta T.Thus, we consider to try with Vapor machine. Thanks.

Best have a chat to Rehm from their perspective. But galden does cost money. All depends on your production. Basically the more you run the machine, depending on design of machine, the more galden it uses...

Open fixed mass galden type machines try and capture the vapor and return to pot by cooling around tank, but not all vapor is trapped. add tothis PCB going in and out of machine and losses are logical. They make claims it looses very little but having talked to users running 8hours 5 days it can be not so as good as the spec states.

The rehm system uses closed chamber technique on demand galden thus usage is much lower.

Hi Josh yes, the cost of galden is a big concern because the machine should be run 12 hrs for 6days.Besides, we more concern in socket soldering by vapor because our socket can stand only for 30sec in 210'C temp.Meanwhile, we do socket soldering by wave machine. It's good to get ur advice as now i hve some questions for vapor dealers.Thanks you, Josh.
