I was wondering if anyone could suggest something to place at my three SMT lines to store any open MSL material while they are running in production. Has anyone made any homemade cabinets?

I was referring to Desiccator Cabinets in the google search and had a couple hits.

Here an ancient thread on the general topic http://www.smtnet.com/Forums/index.cfm?fuseaction=view_thread&Thread_ID=1002

In it, I never responded to the question about the N2 regulator, but it was a n2 regulator removed from a reflow oven.

Homemade cabinet may sound like a simple solution but you need to think about making sure the RH is always less then 5% and everything must be ESD safe....ESD is more of an issue at LOW RH levels...so the glass / plastic in any door needs ESD coating. With a small investment you can get the perfect solution..a Totech Dry Cabinet.....from 1000 Euros / dollars up depending on size...ESD aspects all sorted and maintenance free...no N2 needed so low running costs. These cabinets are becoming a necessity on the production floor to eliminate moisture induced component failures.
