Rampant Ambiguity

When starting a new thread, the thread starter must enter information on two screens. 1 "New Thread" screen, among things, requires entry of a "topic" 2 "Post Message" screen, among things, requires entry of a "subject"

Whats the difference between "topic" and "subject"? Doesnt this dual entry process potentially create confusion and ambiguity [especially if one can not remember the "topic" by the time it come to enter the "subject"?

Ooops, never mind. The "topic" came over to the "subject" this time. Pfew!!! That was a fast fix Brian. Take the rest of the week off.

Yep, you can see that there is the ability to have a different subject than the thread listing. To make things less confusing we potred over the topic into the subject (although you can change it).

As for why this was posted in the wrong forum, you may have answered that yourself Dave :)

Anyhow I'll move it
