assembly software for JUKI | 1 July, 2013

Hi,

is there any universal assembly software that can create the Juki (g3g) format? We are using 2 Juki machines (FM 740, FM 760) and we are looking for a software to split boards to the machines and to prepare everything offline.

Thanks mts

There is my shareware package PCBSynergy

https://pcbsynergy.com

It doesn't do spliting out of the box but you can split the file in Excel and then re-import. All up board prep less than 5 minutes.

There are also quite a few commercial packages such as Tecnomatix, Juki's various offerings, Valor, and the Unisoft offering as well as the SMS International offerings.

Any way check them all out.

I know Juki have some software for optimization but you have to purchase it. From experience though I don't find Software as the strong part of Juki machines.

Do you have JUKI 730EPU or 740EPU offline software ?

Juki files are binary format , makes hard for any thirdparty cad conversion tools. JUKI HLC can handle these machines but I suspect not supported anymore for your age of machines

NO third party software can 100% program JUKI machines completely as JUKI sticks to binary file formats. Even latest JUKI machines you have to have support of JUKI offline software , is bit of pain, machines are good, offline software not so good.

I currently run the HLC software suite with a 750/760 line and another 2060 line. For the 750/760 line I have to stick with the older HLC, version 4.5 I believe, which I actually run inside of a Windows 98 virtual PC using a dongle emulator. The 2060 line I run using the latest HLC which is version 12. To convert my merged CSV file to Juki format I use their Flexline CAD software (I have a pretty old version).

It's a bit of a convoluted system that I have to run to keep them all going, and that's why I'm currently looking into better options.

I have reverse engineered both the 730 and 740 machines the only part outstanding is the multiple boards per panel which other users said is done on the machine. These 2 formats are yet to be generally released. You are correct, it was not easy to do!

Hi Sarason,

I am really interested in exporting these old 740 files directly from our purchasing application that I wrote during the years. I've got a couple of customers who use variant assemblies and panelization of boards. The flexcad solution is absolutely impractible.

Could you please tell me whether its possible to purchase a personal license for your reader and writer (e.g. a DLL) or do you make your code open source, or is it just a standard database format? I would appreciate any hint.

Thanks!

My software can easily open a PCB CSV file so this is probably the easiest way for you to generate a file. The setups are remembered via a write to the registry, so you can go with a standard set of values to arrive at a very usable file without having to spend a fortune on custom programing. I have never considered slicing off a part of the code for reuse and I don't have the time from my current job to do so. If you need any help adapting your PCB file to a CSV format there is a few answers on my FAQ page to help you along any other questions you may have I will happily answer, with the one minor proviso, that I can use the question to add to my FAQ

My effort at commercializing the software has ground to a very slow halt due to time required on my work project.
