Not sure about Vitrox, but can't say anything bad about Yestech. Solid performance as well as top notch support when needed.

Been using YesTech for about six years now and I'm fairly happy with them.

Although they wouldn't be my first choice right now out of all the AOI manufacturers, they would be my choice between the two you're asking about/looking at.

YesTech makes a pretty nice machine, the software is pretty simple to learn and use. My shop runs on average 3 or so new products a week, so quick and easy programming is a must.

Most programs can be done in an hour, usually less, depending on how extensive you're database and part libraries are. The further down the road you get, the less new programming you have to do.

Support is great. The few times I've had machines down the tech support has me either back up and running in no time, or pointed in the right direction with the right parts on the way to me.

Depending on how the machine is configured, it does a pretty good job with post-reflow solder inspection. I could go on and on, but if you have any specific questions just let me know and I'll do my best to answer.

I have no knowledge of the Vitrox AOI, but in general, I would say that decide which company can provide you with the best support given your location. Local reps, Field Service Rep locations and availability should be investigated, as you will need them at some point. In the past, machine choices sometimes come down to the support issue. With machines as complex as AOI, support may be a key weighted item when deciding. My company is on board with Yestech and Mirtec both. Support and performance for both machines is great. 'hege I receive no benefit from any Company mentioned above.

Hello 2000Nog,

I think you are limiting your options here. We use MIRTEC at my facility. I am familiar with both YESTech and Vitrox (Agilent). IMO MIRTEC continues to lead the pack in technology. Worth a look before you buy.

Just my two cents... Good luck!

Tony

My experience has been with yestech and mirtec.. When we compared the two mirtec won by finding more defects.. Vitrox which was formerly agilent was more difficult to program, and as a result required a higher level person to run it. We excluded the vitrox machine. Hope this info helps
