I have a right angle male shrouded connector and the whole set of termination leads is tin lead plated, at least 100 microinches thick. Should the entirety of the lead be conformal coated? Or can we have just the joint coated? I know I have coated leads before that were dipped in tin lead for corrosion/oxidation protection. Does the same apply to plating? Note that we are talking about a shelf life of 30 years for these boards to function.

Generally, solder connections and leads are conformal coated, unless there is a reason not to coat them.
