Screen Printing for BGA | 26 January, 2000

Having only just started to deal with BGA packages, I was wondering if anyone could advise me on possible aperture reductions when screen-printing boards for BGA placement

No reduction are required, the screen should have appertures of the same size than the pad.

We dont distinguish between BGA, finepitch or other parts; they all get the same aperture reduction of 15% which is determined by the finepitch process. We use only PBGAs with eutectic balls.

No reductions required, keep them at 100%.

I have used a 15 to 20 % reduction on PBGAs to reduce the possibility of shorting. On CBGAs and CCGAs I use a One to One aperture.
