No-clean conductivity in analog circuits

Hi Chuck We make precision analog and hybrib audio processing equipment for the radio and TV broadcast industry. We have not experienced any problems relating to no-clean reflow since the introduction of the process several years ago. It is known that there can be problems in certain very high frequency applications, like cell phones, in certain very high impedance circuits or in adverse environmental situations but we have not seen any problems, even in tropical installations. A key point is to be sure that your boards are clean when they come from the FAB. Any reputable house can and does test for this. HASL fluxes are notorious for causing residual problems in a no-clean process. John Thorup
