Juki gang picking same part number | 18 January, 2018

Hi All,

Has anyone had any luck with gang picking the same part on Juki 2060 or FX1R's?

Example: 100nf 0402, we can pick this part simultaneously from 8 feeders at once on our Yamaha's (or 12 on the old Sapphires), but on the Juki's we don't seem to be able to force this, it just tries to pick from one feeder until it is exhausted. We can change the CAD and call them and the reels different part numbers but it is a pain, and causes trouble on set up, stock locations, and inspection.

Any ideas would be most welcome!

Thanks, Rob.

when encountered the material that should be picked simultaneously but actually not, just stop the machine when the mounter head moves to that feeder and move the pick up coodinator with HOD,till it is picked simultaneously,

Hi James,

Thank you for answering. We can simultaneously pick multiple different part numbers with no problem, but we cannot generate programs simultaneously picking the same part number from multiple feeders on our Juki's. We can on our Yamaha's.

Kind regards, Rob.

Hi Sr.Tech,

We did before we posted, and they said no. We can get a round it, but it's a right pain, so I was wondering how anyone else forced it.

I'm guessing with over 3000 views no one else does.

Thanks, Rob.

Hello,

try to find Operation options on your machines

And try to find something like: Treat the same components as alternatives feeders.

I know only 2070/2080 but it could be similar. Not sure if this is what you need but you can try

Hi Vojtěch,

Thanks for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it. Yes we have the same options, but if you want to pick from the alternative feeders at the same time you have to use different part numbers. If you want to pick from alternatives when you run out it works fine.

Rob, Can you add a suffix at the end of the part#, part#-1, part#-2, part#-3 (or use the feeder location part#slot123) and so on? Create those part# in the library. The machine will treat them as unique part#’s.

You might be limited to a certain # of letters/numbers but with a little thought you should be able to come up with something.

As far as I know, the gang picking or not, it has to do with the pick positions. By what I mean is the X positions and Y positions have to as close to parallel for all those feeders in order for "gang pick" to work. If one of the feeder XY position is too much off than the "gang pick" value, then gang pick would not work. So if you want "gang pick" to work, need to calibrate the feeders all line up using the feeder calibration jig.

Hi Thomas,

Yes, we are pretty good at feeder maintenance, we gang pick on our Yamaha/Assembleon kit with no issues. On one of our older machines (YV112-3/Sapphire) we pick 12 LEDs at once per side of the machine. On a couple of jobs we exceed the manufacturers specified CPH. We also do this on our YV100XG's (Topaz & Opal Xii's), and old YV100-2's (Topaz's).

Does the component supply count setting do the trick? We have picked simultaneously same part number in two different feeders with our KE-2020L.
