Yellow dust inside HEATING CONVECTOR | 7 February, 2018

Hi Recently have several components inside the machine covered with this yellow dust. It is visible that some components are almost obstructed after a week working. We never seen this kind of dirt inside the machines, and we don’t know the origin of that, can somebody help in order to really investigate root cause. Many Thanks Paulo

Do you mean in a reflow oven or wave solder? if so check your exhaust blower, make sure its still drawing. if not the flux/dust that builds up on the exhaust pipes may be falling into the machine.

Ok, yes, it sounds like the debris that builds up on fans/heaters/ducting may be making its way onto you product. if the exhaust fan that vents your machine failed this could be the cause, or it could be as simple as its time to open it up and clean the heater/blowers.good luck

It would likely be useful to identify the yellow dust in order to determine the root cause. This can be done using SEM/EDS (e.g. http://www.semlab.com)
