JUKI Pick & Place machine Programming | 15 June, 2018

Hello everybody,

I’d like to hear your advice regarding the programming for multiple Pick & Place machines.

My company is a Contract manufacturer located in SF Bay area and has 4 SMT lines with 11 Pick & Place machines. The good thing is that all of them are from one supplier, JUKI. But there are different models, KE-3010 / 2080 / 2060 / 1070 / 750 and JX-100. I have programming experiences for Flying probe machine and AOI machine but have no experience of Pick & Place machines. In the company, only one person has been programming Pick & Place machines, and I know that he uses two dongle keys, one for new models and the other for old models.

Q1. Can you advise if the programmer must use Dongle key to program for those machines ? Or any other available options ? Q2. Now we are receiving too many new proto type jobs, so we need to use multiple programmers in parallel. But I heard that the Dongle key was for only one person and it was very expensive. what options are available to program multiple PCBAs in parallel ? Q3. What is the best way to find and hire a programmer who can program JUKI Pick & Place machines immediately ? Q4. If you have any written materials explaining the Programming method of JUKI machines for my better understanding, please send me the materials. I have little understanding about the programming of JUKI Pick & Place machines.

your advice will be appreciated very much.

John

I presume the dongles you talk about are for an application called HLC from JUKI. The 2 different versions are for the later 2000 and 3300 and FX series the other key for the older 700 series. There is another way to solve your problem. AN application called Ealead Programming available here:-

This application is US$1000 for programming which does the main programming and optimization reading and writing all the JUKI formats you mentioned. Its weak spot is importing from CAD.

That is where my free Application PCBSynergy comes into play.It takes minutes to generate a new program from CAD https://pcbsynergy.com/

PCBSynergy helped me on my 760 especially latest version with Kicad compatibility. It is pretty user friendly and almost self explanatory. Don't forget to leave files names short for the 750.
