Thus anybody here have experience on Thermal Conductive Adhesive Sheets?

We have one IC component that need to be place with this material to fill in the gap between the pcb and space on its body.

Currently we are performing this manually by, applying first the film on PCB and manually solder the IC.

We plan to do this on SMT? What would be the best process for this?

HI Rob;

The thermal conductive adhesive needs to apply heat to stick on PCB. It's surface has not adhesive tape to fix it before placement of IC.

Process: 1.Place the epoxy adhesive tape on PCB. (IC middle part area) 2.Apply heat on epoxy adhesive tape using soldering iron tip, touch or heat-up four corners of the tape. * This will fix the epoxy adhesive tape on PCB. 3. Position the IC component. 4. Manual solder the IC.

We want to auto place this process but we have problem on printing if we will pre-prep the PCB and place the adhesive before printing. Thickness of paste will be affected due to the added height (thickness) of the epoxy film about 6mils.
