SMT line alignment | 9 January, 2019

Would like to get feedback on realignment of an SMT line with loader/unloader, printer, p&p and 16' oven. What tech would be good to use if doing it ourselves? (Lasers, etc?) What companies can be recommended for a professional job?

Large and small levels, chalk line, plumb bob, pallet jacks, johnny bar, a 2x4 + sledge hammer, and a couple of the same PCBs to test transfer between machines.

All that Phil mentioned plus few tips:

1. Start with the reflow oven. Level the oven and fix it. Then you can go from there to the front end or back end of the line. 2. If you are not sure about all this, hire someone who is. I personally like to do it myself, because even machine vendors will not spend the time and effort to do it right.

3 tools a straight edge that can run between 2 machines and a level. You could also use an auto level as they do make life easy. With either setup your line should end up less than 1mm t of true over a20 metre distance.
