ZipaTec Select 460 - Selective Wave constantly on when running a program | 8 May, 2019

ZipaTec Select 460

I´m trying to get a misbehaving ZipaTec Select 460 to bend according to my will. There is the option to turn the nitrogen on when the pot reaches a set temperature (I believe 170°C) or when the wave turns on. I´m trying with the latter option but the nitrogen flow turns on earlier, unexpectedly, and the cause seem to be that the selective wave engine is turned on in the background at a low 25%. This low effect is not enough to generate a wave but since the wave is technically 'on', the nitrogen turns on also. At least I think this is the reason. I can set the wave to 0% in the Manual Functions window but the 25% wave setting will come back again the next time I run a program. I can´t find the value 25 in any other setting or user program and at this point I fear some kind of memory corruption. When using wettable nozzles there is the option to set a stand-by wave in the Nozzle Selection window but I am currently not using wettable nozzles and none of the nozzle settings have this 25% value.

The PLC under the hood is a Siemens S7-200 and it has a 256k memory cartridge.

Any ideas what could be going on here? Does anyone else have experience of memory issues with the ZipaTec?

Best regards
