We have some small strips of SMD reels, when we use those reels in Siplace machine we can't identify exact part number of the strips because there is no any connection with reel and the strip.

And while unloading reels operators insert wrong article into reel

Keep some empty tape and splice a long enough piece onto the foot of the tape to keep the strip and the reel connected.(Brass shim type splice being the most reliable)

Or

Print 3.5mm labels (Brother PTouch make one this size) and stick those onto your short strips.

Or

Get a really fine marker pen and write on the short strips

Or

If you are a volume manufacturer and the short bits are just the ends of reels, throw them in the bin.

It's difficult to allocate one operator to splice empty tape because we are always try to minimize # operators.

Most of the time original reel are received to production and after completed assembling small strips are inside the feeder then there is an issue to identify part number when all the feeder locations are used.

And also we can't use reel divider plates because there is 60 feeder location in the cart but only 42 locations for reel divided plates.
