MY19 Randomly reboots the computer | 29 March, 2020

Hi

We have a MY 19 that just reboots the computer. It is like some just unplugged the power. We have nothing in the logs. All I see is when it starts up again.

The problem can happen anytime. Today I found that it always happens when I try to auto teach a package from the Y wagon. Just when the camera gets over the component (i can see the component for 0,5 sec) then the computer turns black and then boots again.

The power to the machine is still there.

I have checked the logs. It just don't log anything related to this.

I need to replace theUPS batteries but I cant see that they can cause this problem.

I had a Mycronic technician here for calibration. He also noticed this problem. He should talk to his collegues.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Actually the battery back up can cause the exact problem you are describing. Even if you didn't say that I would have said the same thing to check your ups and the batteries. If there is an outlet that by passes the battery back up, use that and see if your problem goes away.

Thanks Bruce, you are right. When thinking about it that might actually be the issue.

I can't by pass the battery pack, unfortunatly ( at least not in my model)

I have ordered new batteries that will arrive in a few days.

After I removed and put back the battery pack I can't reproduce the problem anymore. I have also cleaned the Power unit from dust.

Don't know yet if this is good or a bad thing, not beeing able to reproduce the error
