Getting started with SMT | 7 October, 1999

Hi all.

I have some experiance in regular electronics, but the hardest part for me was always the soldering, so I am very intrested in SMT.

So what would be the best way to get started in SMT? I would prefer not to have to spend alot of money, but whatever the minimum for simple projects would be is fine...

Could you guys refer me to some web pages that are a little more homebrew or newbie friendly? I like this site, but it seems to be slightly over my head at the moment...

Thanks

It sounds like you are a one man show. I admire you but I don't think it is a good idea if you do not have LOTS of prior experience. If you can explain a little more I will try to give you a better answer.

You could try this link "http://www.albert.co.uk/ALBERT/INDEX.HTM" Its also good to visit SMT-shows, you see all the equipment and the poeple there are able to answer a lot of your questions.

good luck Wolfgang
