Hello while washing SMT boards can unsealed switches and transformers be washed and/or will the wash solution damage the component down the road? Normally I leave them off and add them after wash just want to know if there is anyway possible to get them washed with the rest of the TH components.

I think the nature of switches makes it challenging to seal.Unless otherwise stated in the datasheet, you are doing the right thing. If at least bottom side sealed, you might come up with some sleeves/wash pallets to cover and protect them in wash on individual bases.
