MPM Accela vs DEK or other options? | 11 March, 2022

I've just bought the pick and place machines (universal Genesis GX11 and GC30) and oven (RO300fc-c) but I am confused about printers. I've put in an offer for an MPM Accela (2006 or 2008) but I'm not sure if it's a good idea / deal. It's being sold in as is condition (they haven't tested printing with it) and I'm not sure how it compares to a DEK Horizon 03i or other options. I'm looking in the under USD$16K bracket. Just need something that works, 150 boards per day, 0402, some QFN, no BGA. The MPM looks pretty and photos look like it's in great condition. Can anyone tell me how they compare?

It's done 2000000 prints, how many should a well maintained one last for?

Maybe check EKRA X5, X5Pro too. Our E5 can fit to your requirement and way cheaper machine are them. As I saw, KavSys have a good-running X5Pro.

Do you have any idea for the Ekra (or any other printer, especially MPM) how many cycles it can do before you should look for a new printer? How used is too used? 1 millon? 2? 10?

We are still running an EKRA X5. 2008 build. 1,366,000 cycles. Being swapped out in the near future with an X5 Pro. But we're going to hold it for emergencies. We've found the older X5's are pretty bullet proof. Just keep up on the maintenance.

For MPM, PPM in New Hampshire is the best I've found for service. Now the absolute MPM guru recently left the company, but they still have good technicians and lots of parts.
