Samsung SM45FV NEO Z axis motor change | 3 January, 2023

Hello guys,

we have a couple of CP45FV NEOs working for years now. Last month one of our workers managed to hit one 8mm feeder with the vision module. It was so hard that it actually broke the Z6 motor. We have found a used motor and mounted it. However it is currently unable to home itself. Any of you know if there is some kind of recalibration procedure?

In newer machines, after changing a motor you have to do an "Axis Home Calibration". Once I changed Z-Axis belt on an SM-482 and it refused to successfully do "Axis Home Calibration. Then the solution was to remove the belt, rotate the motor pulley a little (may 10-15 degree) and install belt again and try "Axis Home Calibration"

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. This machine actually doesnt have such a button. It can home itself, but it tries to through the whole process, and stops when trying to find Z6 zero point.

Hello, I have several manuals in English, but not the service manual. If it is a PDF where I could eventually use Google translate would be great to have.

Actually, our friends from China sent us some videos on this, but it is not understandable - in brief it is something like that: You move the Z axis to middle, then you try to home and use something to trigger the zero-point sensor... tried but did not work out.

Hello,

Do you have information about the part number (if any) and/or where we could buy one?

Thanks!

Hi guys, we managed to fix it. This tool turned out to be impossible to find. What we did is mount the motor, mark the timing belt's position and loosen the screws that attach the timing belt to the head. This way we were able to move the position of the head relative to the motor. We moved the timing belt 3 positions each time and we were lucky to have it homing after the fourth attempt. Just in case some one comes across such problem...

I am not sure exactly which manuals you mean. Here are the ones I have as files: https://www.eurolan.net/datasheets/cp45fvneo/

If I could somehow help you let me know. We have such a machine for over 10years.

Thank you, there are a few more things in that service manual than I have. Really what I was looking for, and didn't find, is there any type of comp table for the ballscrew on these machines?
