SPC Data Entry System

SPC Data Entry System | 8 September, 1999

My company is looking to perform "real time" statistical process control on our current SMT operations. I have identified the critical processes for SPC but have not had much luck in finding a system(s) that can monitor the required processes for my equipment (DEK265GS Screenprinter, Fuji CP4.3, Fuji IP1, BTU TRS-21 Reflow and Electrovert U2000 Wavesolder). Can anyone recommend a good system(s)that can be used to accumulate and analyze data in real time for SMT equipment? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've used it on the DEK's to great advantage finding my way to the most important first line process management requirement as printing paste. Beyond that, I have created simple Excel SPC charts for all other processes. If you really want to get serious, contact SAS for their pitch on SPC.

They sell strips of temerature sensors that you can put on your conveyor rails. The sensors can be monitored and SPC'd with a PC. Ta. Dave F

Some packages allow you to enter data automatically by interfacing with measurment devices or equipment. For example, a system might have an automaic interface with an LSM to download the measurements directly into the database. Others might have to be done manually. You also need to define what other features you want. Some systems allow you to use smart graphics to help enter data, and to display work instructions on screen, as opposed to using paper. Some can automatically display quality data to the operator, which is essential if you are really going to do real-time process cnotrol. What data format are you going to use (yield, PPM, paretos, etc.)? Do you want to enter test data in the system? Do you want the system to have some troubleshooting tools to help identify problem areas? I have implemented a real-time system which did many of these things. If you would like to talk to me more abut it, please feel free to e-mail me at wycofb@qtron.com.

Full data collection from print to test with real time reporting in html format. You can have it set up to page or email managers when you go out of process. It is in my budget for the near future.
