Only the speed is updated, 90000CPH (95000CPH) is only the theoretical speed.

The actual speed is 60%-70% of the theoretical speed.

Is there any difference between other hardware and software parts?

YAMAHA YSM20 VS YSM20R | 5 March, 2023

Hello Sophy,

We use both YSM20 And YSM20R in our current SMT line, from my current understanding we cannot se any large difference in mounting capabilities(maybe 2-3%), i even spoke to a salesperson regarding Yamaha mounting machines last week who said the same thing. They are practically the same.

However there are some structrual improvements in the YSM20R. specificially the Cablecover(on the X axis there is a plastic cover over the cables, on YSM20 this gets loose and bangs the lid of the machine which eventually can break.)

if you are interested in more specific information you can message me with any questions!

Does the 'R' suffix not mean a rotary head on the machine? This will then allow for that head to be a 'chip shooter' but does so with a lower height off the PCB being assembled. That is, the rotary head offers some gain in speed but is unable to mount the taller parts like some of the other head options. That is our understanding. Hope to see the product in Shenzhen later this year @ Nepcon. We are in the market and reviewing the options from Yamaha again.

Nope the rotary head is on the YRM20, both the YSM and YRM can be dual beam so you could have both heads in one machine, assuming they allow that config.
