Hi, We have 4 Yamaha machines in a product line, Couple GEMS, YVL88 and YV100, and we produce small of number of boards like a couple hundred at a time. Most of the slots of the machines are populated, so we don't have long set up times. Some days, we change the set a couple times to produce small batches.

My question is this, as these machines are getting pretty old, what machines would be good replacements for these machines?

Hi, I would recommend something from 21 Century at least. Considering it's mostly small batches there's no reason to raise the budget to purchase the Newest series. I think the principle here is something that'll do and do a nice job. If you are a Yamaha fan and would not like to try some others like JUKI or FUJI to go through the learning & training again, the Yamaha YG100; YG200 could be your ideal choices, we have some nice condition stocks, or you will think YG100 & YG200 are also old you could only use it for a couple of years and then you will be facing the same issue, then there's the YS12/YS88/100, we could go bolder to think about the later YSM & S series too. I only make suggestions based on your situation, hope you get your ideal choice.

Go for YG100 and YG88. Or in the USA the equivalent Assembleon options. The benefit is that your feeders will still be compatible. The Windows based OS on these is way easier to use than the DOS system on YV machines.
