SiPlace Rotary Star Heads | 2 September, 1999

To all SiPlace Users,

I know there are lots of you out there! From your own experiences, what sort of life expectancy would you expect (in terms of number of placements) from a rotary star head for a Siplace 80S15 or 80S20 machine, before a replacement head would be required, assuming proper maintenance carried out as specified in the manuals, etc.

Many Thanks Scott Davies

Talk to Mike McMonagle at Ktec Electronics. He is very knowledgeable and has a whole bunch of SiPlace machines. He can be reached at (281)243-5000. Just ask for him. Cheers.

Scott

It is not possible talk about S15 and S20 as one category.

I manage a service center in ISRAEL for SIEMENS machines ,We have customers with S15 which place more than 140,000,000. components in one single machine and they don't see any degredation in MTBF or even placment accuracy.

The S20 machine is much better to service specialy the head ,the star is simply removed for cleaning ,I dont see any reason to replace star IF IT WAS NOT MECHNICALY DAMAGED BY CRASH WITH FEEDER.

Please be more specific why you need to replace star.
