Hand Place Material Handler

Hand Place Material Handler | 1 September, 1999

Certain ICs cannot be place by our pick and place machines and therefore operators place them by hand. Has anyone seen some type of dispensing material handler that would ensure we don't bend the leads of this fragile devices? I'm envisioning some sort of apparatus where the tubes feed in from the top and one component can be removed at a time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Same thing I recommended some sites with the same problem and although they had to buy some equipment ( they got themselfs used ones ) they now consider this a good solution. Luckily we have around here ( Hamburg/ Germany )a shop that customizes equipment the way you need it for almost no extracharge cause every item they sell is build on demand. Yould be lucky if you find a similar shop in your region.

It could help organize other hand placed components as well. If you only have a few tube delivered ICs to hand place you could adapt one of the vibratory linear feeders like you might have on your P&P. Put a foot pedal on the vibrator control and the feeder will deliver one IC into postion to pick up with a vacuum tool or whatever. Look at the US Vibra feeders marketed by Hoover-Davis 716/352-9590. good luck John Thorup |
