Does anybody know how to disable the RV head on a Siplace F5 machine. Our machine is configured with a 6-head RV head and an IC head. We are having problems with the RV head, and machine wont initialise without finishing the RV head reference run. Thanks

Never needed to disable anything on SiPlace but I think it should be in KONFIG.MA file, you need to change the ID & TYP of the relevant KOPF in the relevant Portal (Gantry). For single gantry machines, the KOPF information in Portal 1 is relevant.

BTW: What issues are you facing in RV head ?

thanks for the reply. The Step motor module at the head is defective, so when the machine does the reference run, it will give a timeout because the DP station and pick and reject stations are not working. I reckon if i disable the RV, maybe i can initialise the machine then at least run the machine using only the IC head in the meantime while we source for a replacement board. By the way, can you give me more details about the konfig.ma file you mentioned? Im not really sure which lines to change or what not. Thanks again

Sorry for late reply, I am having problems in accessing this forum. Kindly send me a PM / Email.

On the Station computer, You should get your KONFIG.MA from C:SrDatenSrcMa folder and copy to a safe place. Next open the KONFIG.MA in Notepad and scroll to line #24. It should be something like this

Beschreibung 1. Kopf

Kopftyp 5

Kopf-ID 1

You should change the Kopftyp to -1 and Kopf-ID tp -1

Save the file, copy it to C:SrDatenSrcMa and reboot the machine. The value -1 means Doesn't Exist

PS: This has not been tested.

Warning: Always keep a copy of your original file.

Thanks again for the reply. I did what you mentioned on your previous message. When i rebooted the machine i came up with a "software booting" message and didn't go past that. I checked the MC and i got the error "no SRBS, system halted". What is SRBS? By the way, may i get your email address? so i can perhaps email you? mine is erici@circuitsolutions.com.au. Thanks again
