Hi,

I am looking for a software solution for DFM and DFA analysis and maybe panel and stencil preparation. HQDFM is free software and seems to be what I need. Still, since it needs internet connection to a PCB manufacturer (even my antivirus alerted for trojan), I am looking for a more professional and independent solution (data safety is important as well). Thank you!

What does Valor related to DFM and DFA do?

I used it for many years for P&P programming, specifically Assembleon, but I hadn't see tools related with DFM/DFA.

The software I have is Valor Process Preparation. Maybe isn't the same.

DFM for PCBA is DFF and DFA..

I believe the service tool you used is run by a PCBA supplier and would not be very comprehensive tooling?

from Siemens Software we have...

Siemens Process Preparation DFA Risk Analysis, is part of what was known as Valor Process Preparation suite of tools, so not just for programming machines.

Siemens PCBlow, new SaaS service , subscription based commerical for users and free for manufacturers to join.

Siemens ValorNPI , the industry standard PCBA DFM solution, now more focused.

All options use ValorDFM code bases to deliver solutions

Advantage also is the VPL parts library a must for decent DFM, to check pin to pad and spacial aspects of parts chosen in BOM. Has largest geometry library in industry based on Manufacturers and MPN to package match.

What solution makes sense depends if you are a PCBA manufacturer, Fabrication or Assembly focus or both?
