Oh dear forum participants,

I left a good job (finished contract under tyrannical rule with style and grace?) in the city of Spokane. Am now in Wisconsin doing DFM of all things. Yeah, I snagged that job on our forum and can't wait.

This might be timely and interesting as Cunli asked me to write a monthly column (The MoonMan and His DFM/CE or some such thing - suggestions?). If luck or fate was ever a factor, this may be the time for both. I mean, if I'm going to help a company do DFM/CE, how could this not benefit us all.

Geez, I could throw out too many bones for us all to swallow at one gulp while stirring up the pot even more. Actually, I'm a bit gone after a thirty hour drive here, but I'll recover by Monday.

Also, I heard Steve G. arrived in Oklahoma (where the wind does what?) on his new job. Best wishes Steve and join me in a tornado or two. Our temperature today, under cloudy skies and 90% humidity, will be 90 degrees - F that is.

Wish you all the best. I won't be as active on the forum because the internet access in Chippewa Falls is a bit sucky - it sucks.

Enjoy,

Moonman

Keep it up. John Thorup

Moonman,

Glad to hear your news. I lived there for a few years, pretty state to look at, felt like a lifetime. Oh, the humidity ... just wait, it will increase with time.

A midwest electronics industry joke about the weather claimed two seasons to the year; ESD (dry winters) and blowhole (humid summers).

Congradulations,

Earl:

Nice to read your thoughtful words again. Been busy myself with all this summer fishing and golf. Little work to do, but I can handle that.

Good luck with the new work hope to from you and Steve shortly. Thought he was trying to get back east!

I am assuming you will live and work primarily in air conditioning. I am still trying to figure out how I made through childhood without air conditioning. Looking forward to your column.

Hi Ya Moonman!

Looks like me an you were traveling about the same time! Well, I made it! All in one piece even! After 1,763.2 miles, dodging some thunderstorms outside of Flagstaff, Arizona and Amarillo, Texas, I'm now here...got here last Saturday. MAN! My mailbox was sure full after not being up online inna 'bout a week! Took me 'bout 20-minutes to clear my box out...was full of MR2 posts from the Toyota MR2 owners list that I belong to...

Got me an apartment on Tuesday. What a change from California! I got me a decent 1-bedroom for $375 a month, and a $100 deposit...even got a coupon for $150 off my first months rent from the newspaper! That's in comparison to the $885 I was paying for a studio apartment in "Silly-con" valley.

Wednesday, the fun began! Unloading my 'friggen U-Haul! By myself! Hoo-boy, that was loads of fun in 95-degree heat with about 80% humidity! But I just drank lots of fluids (beer and whatnot) and toughed it out...hehehe. I looked at about 5 or 6 places before I decided on the place I moved into, they were all about the same price range, and some were a little nicer than the others, but what made my mind-up about the place I'm moving into was that it was the only one that would give me an apartment on the GROUND FLOOR! No flights of stairs for this guy! I'm no fool! Hehehehe...

Worked two whole days last week, and as my boss said, I've got "loads of opportunities" there...that his nice way of putting things...hehehe. There are quite a few issues! The first place he wants me to straighten out is the wave solder area, and I'm gonna have my hands full for a while!

Still living outta cardboard boxes, and I'll be doing that for just a little longer. Plan to get most of my stuff put away this weekend.

Finally ate some stuff that I haven't eaten since I was back home in North Carolina, I have grits and eggs with breakfast now, and restaurants serve fried okra and green tomatoes with your meal here...YUM! hehehe

Oklahoma has some pretty "healthy" looking women here (if you catch my drift), might be having to get to know one or two before too long...hehehe...was told that the ratio is 3-1 here in Tulsa (woo-hoo!) People are really nice out here, have been treated really well by everyone I've come in contact with.

Yeah Wayne, I was trying to get back east a little farther, but Tulsa ain't so bad...closer to my family in North Carolina than I was in California...only a days drive now. Nobody that I talked to wanted to help with relocating me...getting pretty cheap nowdays I guess.

Anyways, I should be getting back into the swing of things here real soon...just gotta get settled in a bit more.

By the way the tornado image is from www.chaseday.com, it's a image of a tornado forming in Oklahoma City in 1998...

Talk at ya'll L8'er!
