VOC free flux wave solder fixtures

VOC free flux wave solder fixtures | 6 July, 1999

I've heard that use of VOC free flux with wavesolder fixtures can be challenging due to entrapment of water in the fixture.

Is anyone out there successfully running VOC free with wave fixtures & did you experience problems? If so, how did you resolve them?

Any comments would be appreciated.....

thanks

I run VOC on all wave soldering and have had no problem's with the pallet's at all. Occationally you get a build up from overspray but you can clean it off, alpha do a wipe for cleaning VOC off, I can't remember the name but it's definately in the archive's cos I asked the question ( which mean's I really should know the name...but it's just a part number to me now!!)

happy VOCing

If you encounter problems it shouldn't be too difficult to locate the source of the entrapment and block or relieve it. John Thorup |

Not having trouble much anymore. Last year, or was it the year before that when VOC was just a gleam, I had to use hot air knives after flux application to minimize/eliminate the entrapped oxygen bubbles. Last year went to nitrogen in a big bad Seho and that resolved the issues especially with ultrasonic spray fluxing. Now using the stuff both in normal and inert atmospheres with the same success the other folks are talking about.

Maybe there's an answer somewhere for you in all this. Could it be better flux or? (damn, that's not an answer).
