Markers - Pens

Markers - Pens | 19 February, 1999

I need some help to see if anyone knows of a vendor that makes a permanent marker that is in the Houston area that can write on a PCB the size of a grain of rice using white permanent ink...That's the amount of space we have to write our serial numbers for our boards..we tried Rapidographs but they come off after being baked in the oven and it looks like it doesn't do well on a smooth non-poreous surface..If anybody can point me in the direction..

Are you kidding?? What kind of trace widths are you doing??? NO!!! What kind of rice are doing?? Rice wine or rice beer?

I know of no marking pen companies in Houston.

Get marking pens from the following suppliers and modify the tips to meet your requirements:

nissen (perminant markers) 215.886.2025 mark-tek 800.222.4111 Metron Optics (619-755-4477) (variety of bright colors and permanent/water wash/solvent wash formulations) Panduit (White p/n PX-10)

Good luck

Sorry, I do not know of any marker that can do this...it sounds as though you have an application that is ripe for edge-writing...I have info somewhere on this...but I have to dig, and I will if you are interested. It is pretty efficient, since you have the length of the pcb to work with. A lot of grains of rice - almost enough for a side dish(LOL).
