Does anyone have any data or experience with voids in Glob Top applications? We are working with a RF application and I'm trying to find information on RF performance characteristics and moisture absorption on a glob toped devices. We have determined that in our application the Glob Top does affect performance in a before and after comparison.

Thanks, Robert Culpepper 505 856-8115

What's a spike here or a nanosecond there. I hope your reference pertains to adding a coating to devices after assembly. Does it? If so, you know we are working with, essentially, buried microstrip. I mean, you already know that.

Because you are all so sensitive, and rightly so, calculations must be made to effect compensated readings before and after application.

I've shot my mouth off without really understanding but one thing. RF is sensitive and varies wildly depending on "magic" - but coatings as solder mask or conformal disrupt your lives. The problem is how much can you stand?
