Reflow Temperature Labels/Stickers

I've heard about these reflow temperature labels/stickers but haven't seem to find them. Is there such a thing? And how reliable are they? I don't want to keep attaching thermocouple probes onto a board whenever there's a issue.

But it sounds like you are looking for a low cost, non-destructive method for temperature sensing. There is a company that makes non-destructive thermocouples that clamp onto the side of the pcb and can telescope to most locations on the pcb. We have used them with good success. Label that turn a color once a specific temperature is met. You really made me dig deep to find these. I found one source for you. I know there are other manufactures out there. I used to have information on several others. Just moved and threw a lot of stuff away. I have used before but they were not accurate enough for my application. A mole just provided much more information. Here is the where you can get the temperature indicating labels:

Reginald, McMaster-Carr Supply also carry them from a company called Thermographics (617-734-1018). I would caution agaist using them for anything except the simplest of measurements, there's a big difference between measuring your laminate surface temperature versus measuring the actual temperature at the joint of the component.

The Saunders Technology probes work well, and are normally within about 5 degrees of the reading from a soldered thermocouple. They also allow you to put them on before first reflowing the board. Not cheap though....
